HP DV6-6176SA not detecting dedicated graphics card?

Just got this laptop yesterday, cant seem to use the dedicated graphics on it, just the integrated Intel HD graphics. I have tried installing latest drivers, and changing the settings for each game/app i want to use dedicated graphics for in the "configure switchable graphics" tool, however it still only shows the Intel card in the game settings under the graphics hardware option. The dedicated card is an AMD Radeon HD 6490M. Thanks in advance.
