My nvidia geforce 8500 GT is overheating?

Ziper Asked: My nvidia geforce 8500 GT is overheating?

The idle temperature of my graphics card is about 70-75C and when running a game it goes around 80-90C. One time the temperature was 97C and not too long ago some blue and green lines appeared on my screen and disappeared when i reformatted my computer. I was wondering if this is a hardware fault or because my graphics card doesn't have a fan?
My specs are:
Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2160 @ 1.80GHz
2 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT
I'm currently running Windows 7 32-bit

If this is a hardware fault can you give me some suggestions on what would be compatible with my system?

LOL ur graphix card doesn't have a fan? something is wrong there. all gaming graphix cards have fans. and if they dont then you have a messed up card. take it back now

also you computer needs to be cooled via cans and such if your running on high settings. you can burn out these cards easy

also make sure you have the correct power source for the card.

you will need a better cooling system, get it before your video card fries up
